DIY Coconut Sugar Scrub

Wherever you are in the United States, this winter has been brutal. Scarves, gloves and a coat may be your main defense against the cold and harsh city winds, but it can still do a number on your dry skin. For days like this, try a sugar coconut oil scrub that we swear by!

The sugar is a great exfoliant that will help remove the dry skin cells that itch and flake off while the while the coconut oil can help moisturize the new skin underneath. In addition to that wondrous coconut oil smell, you can add some essential oil. Whatever fragrance you prefer! Add some drops, mix the scrub a bit until homogeneous and decide if it is fragrant enough for you.

The recipe is easy: equal parts sugar and coconut oil and whatever fragrance you’ve chosen.

½ Cup Organic Cane Sugar

½ Cup Coconut Oil

Essential Oil (optional)

Mix it altogether in a medium mixing bowl or container. Apply liberally and massage in to the skin. The scrub will feel less grainy as the dead skin is removed. Rinse off with warm water. To avoid lotioning up after shaving, use this scrub first. This scrub will leave your skin feeling soft and supple, ready to brace the winter winds.
